Ichigo Kurosaki’s bankai, Tensa Zangetsu, trades the giant cleaver for a slim, jet-black daito — all speed and refined menace — and it is one of the most striking blades in Bleach. This handmade Ichigo Bankai katana reproduces that form as a genuine working sword and a faithful collector’s piece for fans of refined design.

Forging & Steel

The 72 cm blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel, a high-carbon alloy that takes and holds a true edge while staying resilient under impact. It is hand-polished to reveal the steel and mounted on a full-tang core, so the whole sword is one solid, dependable piece. Two bamboo mekugi pin the tang for full disassembly.

Mounts & Fittings

A sculpted iron tsuba carries intricate traditional patterns and seats the balance, carved iron menuki sit under the synthetic-shagreen wrap for grip, and the light lacquered wood saya is painted with delicate art — the detail that makes this Bankai blade read as a refined display piece as much as a cutter.

Care & Maintenance

A high-carbon blade like this rewards a little upkeep. Because 1060 steel is reactive, wipe the blade down after every handling session and lay on a thin film of light mineral or camellia oil before it slides back into the saya, which stops surface rust from ever taking hold. Knock out the two bamboo mekugi when you want to strip the sword for a deeper clean, and store it edge-up on a stand so the lacquered scabbard never bears the weight of the blade. Treated this way, it stays keen, bright and display-ready for years.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The sharpened, full-tang 1060 blade handles light tatami practice and makes a striking display piece. Explore more of our anime katana range, including the Sasuke katana and the Zoro katana.
