Forging & Steel
The 72 cm blade uses Honsanmai three-steel forging, the classic ’three-layer’ construction that joins three distinct steels into one blade: Damascus for figured grain, hard T10 for the edge, and tougher 1060 carbon for resilience. A distinctive claw-like, corrugated hamon runs the edge, and the whole blade is brought to a top-class polish. The lamination is the heart of the sword — each steel doing the job it does best, a hard cutting edge wrapped in a tougher body.
Mounting & Fittings
The tsuba is delicately hand-carved gilded copper, set against a tricolor lacquered wood saya with cotton sageo. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine white shagreen with a copper menuki kit and two bamboo mekugi over a true full-tang blade, for a refined presence balanced for respectful display or handling.
