Varje blad inspekteras, oljas in och packas diskret — kartongen avslöjar aldrig att det finns ett svärd inuti.

Kaji means fire — the conflagration — and this katana is a tribute to the forge itself, where ancient Japanese smiths bent fire into steel. The blade carries that heat in its hamon and its red lacquer, and the double bo-hi grooves give it the low, singing draw that lighter blades are loved for.

Forging & Steel

The blade is forged from high-carbon T10 tool steel with a wavy hamon — the temper line that marks differential hardening, giving flexibility in the spine and a hard, sharp edge. Twin bo-hi grooves are cut the length of the blade: they lighten the sword, shift the balance toward the hand, and produce a distinct sound during cutting practice that lets you hear a clean swing.

Mounting & Fittings

The copper tsuba is carved as a dragon, a symbol of wisdom and strength, set against a red-lacquered saya with red-and-white sageo signalling passion and courage. The tsuka is wrapped in genuine white shagreen with a copper menuki kit and two bamboo mekugi over a true full-tang blade, for a secure grip.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. Kaji is a sharpened, full-tang T10 blade with a real corrugated hamon and twin bo-hi — a functional cutting katana, lightened by the grooves for a fast, singing draw at 1.2 kg. Its dragon guard and red lacquer also make it a bold display. For more bold T10 work, compare the demon-themed Murasaki no Akuma and the meteor-themed Katana Ryousei in our katana range.
