Varje blad inspekteras, oljas in och packas diskret — kartongen avslöjar aldrig att det finns ett svärd inuti.

Akuma means demon — and this short blade carries the temperament. A wakizashi is the companion sword, the close-quarters answer when there is no room for a full katana, and the Akuma sharpens that role with a clay-tempered T10 blade that whispers through the draw thanks to a deep bo-hi groove.

Forging & Steel

The blade is forged from T10 tool steel and clay-tempered — clay laid along the spine before the quench, so the edge cools fast and hard while the back stays resilient. That differential hardening is what gives the Akuma its visible hamon, the wavy temper line born in the quench that no etched imitation can match. The bo-hi running the length of the blade lightens it and gives the cut that low, singing draw, while the short profile keeps the point quick to recover between cuts.

Fittings

The furniture is pure gilded and sculpted copper — a tsuba and matching menuki kit worked in relief and gold-finished. The saya is lacquered ebony wood with a bull-horn kurigata, and the tsuka is wrapped in genuine stingray leather, pegged with a bamboo mekugi. The contrast of warm gold metalwork against the dark scabbard gives the Akuma a presence well beyond its length, equally at home drawn or resting on a stand.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The clay-tempered T10 blade is hard, sharp and functional, built to cut, and the short length makes it fast and controlled in the hand. It pairs naturally with a full-size katana as a daisho set, or stands alone as a striking display piece.
